Have you ever wanted to get up close with a dinosaur? You’ll get your chance during the upcoming Jurassic Quest Festival just minutes from our Edmonton rentals. As the number one dinosaur experience in the world, Jurassic Quest aims to educate, entertain, and amaze with its realistic life-sized dinosaurs.
From April 29th to May 7th guests can visit the Edmonton Expo Centre for a chance to see and learn all about the dinosaurs that inhabited the earth 65 million years ago. There’s so much happening during the festival, you’ll want to make sure you have a good 2 hours to spend exploring.
At Jurassic Quest you’ll meet more than 70 life-size dinosaurs from all prehistoric eras. Some of the most notable are:
- Spinosaurus: A sky-scraping 60 feet long with incredibly realistic detail and movement.
- Apatosaurus: This dino measures 80 feet with expert details and movements.
- Megalodon: This 50-foot aquatic predator is part of the new Ancient Oceans exhibit where you’ll find many more aquatic dinosaurs.
- T-Rex
- Camarasaurus
- Triceratops
- Albertosaurus
- Pteranodon
- Dilophosaurus
- Stegosaurus
- Ceratosaurus
- And so many more. Such as the smaller Eoraptor, Desmatosuchus, Heterodontosaurus, Guanlong, and Deinonychus.
All dinosaurs making an appearance during the festival are expertly crafted in collaboration with leading paleontologists to ensure every dino is replicated perfectly. This means every detail from their teeth to their skin texture, fur, or feathers are as precise as possible. While all dinos have movement, you might hear some roar too.
There’s plenty to do for the kids at Jurassic Quest from dino themed bouncy houses to games, and a Tricera-tot play area. Other kid experiences include fossil digs, dinosaur rides (both walking and stationary), crafts, and quests. Children 2 and under are free, however if they wish to participate in activities an Activity Ticket is required.
Adults will love seeing all the moving dinosaurs, but the interactive Raptor Training experience is a big hit. Plus, everyone will get a chance to meet and greet the baby dinos and their trainers: Trixie the Triceratops, Cammie the Camarasaurus, and of course Tyson the T. Rex.
For our residents in Red Deer, the Calgary Stampede will host Jurassic Quest from April 21st to April 23rd which is only an hour and a half away.
