From February 15th to March 3rd, Red Deer will host the largest event held in Alberta since the 1988 Calgary Olympics: the Canada Winter Games!
During these two weeks, Red Deer will host athletes from across Canada as they compete in 150 sporting events. The sports included in the 2019 Games are:

Get your tickets today and cheer on our athletes as they compete in hockey or ringette at the Servus Arena. Take in the gymnastic sports at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre, or head to Westerner Park for boxing, judo, archery, and table tennis. Each of these venues are less than ten minutes from your Red Deer apartment at Westview Manor. There is a lot more to the Canada Winter Games than just sports. Red Deer will also be hosting a variety of fun interactive events for all ages. The 52° North Music and Cultural Festival at Celebration Plaza will host a series of free outdoor concerts featuring Canada's finest musical performers, including The Headstones and Kim Mitchell. This cultural festival will also feature the Artisan Avenue Market, public skating, an ice slide, food trucks, snow maze, and an opportunity to play the newly invented Crokicurl game, a combination of curling and crokinole.
Little Gaetz Avenue has additional events and activities for the Canada Winter Games. Watch the Chainsaw Carving, sample some craft beer at the Scott Block, take in a woodworking workshop, or enjoy live musical lunch time performances.
