Jumpstart your holiday season with Edmonton's 35th annual Festival of Trees at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

This winter tradition provides fun for the whole family while supporting a worthy cause. Each year the profits from the festival support the University of Alberta Hospital. Last year, the festival proceeds made it possible to purchase advanced CT scanning technology and software for the Brain Centre. This year, proceeds will bring Osseointegration, a procedure that attaches an artificial implant directly to the bone for amputees, to the hospital. The University of Alberta Hospital will then become the first Canadian public hospital to provide the procedure.

The Festival of Trees begins at 9am on Thursday November 28th and ends on Sunday December 1st at 5pm. For ticket prices and operating hours visit the festival's website. Some festival events require coupons which are available at the door for $1 each. Use coupons for the children's Festive Arts, Hockey Shoot, Ice 'n Eat, Festive Tattoos, and Snowball Toss.

Special events throughout the festival will require specific tickets; however, admission into the Festival of Trees is included.

Special Events:

On Thursday November 28th, seniors 65 and over receive free admission to the festival and complementary coat check. Family night, also on Thursday, starts at 5pm with fun activities including a scavenger hunt through the beautifully decorated trees. Children are also invited to bring their own stuffies for a checkup in the festival's hospital room.

Shop 'til you drop with plenty of baked goods, giftware, treasures, and hostess/teacher gift ideas to browse through. Children get a special opportunity to shop in the children only Secret Shop. Kids can enter through a child-size door for an opportunity to buy gifts for their loved ones.

Mark your calendars because you won't want to miss Edmonton's premier holiday event. Luckily for our residents of El Mirador Apartments and Cloverdale Hill Condominiums, the Edmonton Convention Centre is only 5 minutes away.
